Trevor May Earns Fourth Save With Diaz Absent
3 years agoNew York Mets relief pitcher Trevor May stepped into the ninth inning role Wednesday with Edwin Diaz on the paternity list, and he earned his fourth save of the season against the Miami Marlins. May did not allow a baserunner and struck out two of the three batters he faced in an inning of work. May has been very effective over his last 15 appearances, recording a 2.51 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with 19 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings. Despite his success, he figures to remain as the primary setup man to Edwin Diaz going forward, though fantasy managers may see him receive another save opportunity in the next several days while Diaz is away.
