Trevor Lawrence Looks To Start Hot Against Divisional Rival Colts
1 year agoJacksonville Jaguars Quarterback Trevor Lawrence enjoyed a resurgent second season in 2022, finishing as the QB8 after a disastrous rookie year. With Doug Pederson running the show and the addition of Christian Kirk and Travis Etienne to the offense, Lawrence was better positioned for success and showed why he was taken as the No. 1 overall pick in 2021. Expectations are sky-high in year three for the former Clemson star, especially with the addition of Calvin Ridley. In this Week 1 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, fantasy managers should have confidence that Lawrence will put up top-10 QB numbers against a defense that was in the bottom half of units in terms of points allowed to quarterbacks in '22. All-Pro Stephon Gilmore left for Buffalo, but Indy decided to draft four new DBs, led by second-rounder Julius Brents out of Kansas State. Even with the latest additions to the secondary, Lawrence should take advantage of this inexperienced unit on Sunday and is a must-start in all fantasy leagues.
