11 months agoRelief pitcher Trevor Gott signed with the Oakland Athletics on Friday. The 31-year-old pitched with the Seattle Mariners and New York Mets last season, appearing in 64 games with a 4.19 ERA. The A's could try to deploy Gott in high-leverage situations, hoping to move him for a prospect at the deadline if he shows well. Trevor May picked up 21 of the 29 saves Oakland tallied last season, so if Gott could somehow secure the closer role, he'd be worth a flier for saves. The righty pitched to a near-average 98 ERA+ in 2023 and a 99 ERA+ in 2022.
