Trevor Cahill Gets Shellacked By Reds Tuesday
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Trevor Cahill struggled in his first outing of 2021, allowing seven runs on nine hits in four innings as he earned the loss in a 14-1 defeat against the Reds. Cahill did manage to strike out four batters, but that obviously doesn't outweigh the rest of the performance. He is in the rotation right now with Steven Brault on the injured list, and figures to likely return to the bullpen when Brault is healthy. His value was already on the lower end heading into Tuesday, but managers really should avoid Cahill — especially with his next start scheduled to be against the Padres.
