Trevor Cahill Allows One Run Against Reds On Wednesday
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Trevor Cahill allowed just one run in 5 1/3 innings of work on Wednesday night, but did not factor into the decision in a 5-1 loss to the Reds. Cahill allowed one run on three hits while striking out one, as he allowed two or fewer earned runs for the fourth time in his last six starts. He's been very inconsistent this year — posting a 1-4 record and 5.97 ERA in 34 2/3 innings of work — but when he has a good matchup, he can be a decent streaming option in deep leagues or NL-only formats. Managers might want to avoid using him as a streamer though in his next start against the Cardinals.
