1 year agoCincinnati Bengals wide receiver Trenton Irwin (hip) practiced in full on Wednesday. Irwin is dealing with a hip issue but it hasn't impacted his status for Week 12 against the Steelers so far. Tee Higgins (hamstring) was a DNP on Wednesday so Irwin could theoretically slide in behind Ja'Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd as the Bengals' number three wideout on Sunday. Jake Browning is now starting under center for Cincinnati and it's doubtful that he can support three different pass catchers for fantasy purposes but Irwin seems to have some chemistry with him.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller

4 months agoThe Cincinnati Bengals waived wide receiver Trenton Irwin on Monday. The move comes a day after Irwin was a healthy inactive for the team's Week 13 loss to the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers. In addition to a limited role on offense this year with rookie Jermaine Burton now around, the 28-year-old Irwin has seen fewer punt-return duties on special teams as well. Irwin had only been active in seven games for the Bengals in his sixth year with the team and had caught three of 10 targets for 15 yards before being let go. He'll now try to latch on with another organization for the remainder of the season and will be unlikely to have a significant role if he makes it back onto a 53-man active roster. In his five-plus seasons in the NFL with the Bengals, Irwin has put up 46 catches for 601 yards and five touchdowns in 41 regular-season games (nine starts).--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

4 months agoCincinnati Bengals wide receivers Charlie Jones (groin) and Trenton Irwin (coach's decision) are both inactive for Week 13 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jones had been listed as doubtful after being sidelined during practice on Friday, and he's now set to miss his fourth consecutive game. Meanwhile, Irwin had not been on the injury report but is a healthy scratch once again. As a result, Isaiah Williams and Jermaine Burton should earn additional snaps.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller

6 months agoCincinnati Bengals wide receiver Trenton Irwin is active for Sunday's meeting with the Giants. The 26-year-old has played in just two games this season but has been a healthy scratch in other contests. Instead, Jermaine Burton will take a seat in Week 6. However, with Tee Higgins, Ja'Marr Chase, and Andrei Iosivas on the field, along with Zack Moss (ankle) and Chase Brown (quadriceps) cleared for action, Irwin isn't expected to get much playing time. The same would have been true for Burton.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

6 months agoCincinnati Bengals tight end Tanner Hudson and wide receiver Trenton Irwin are both healthy scratches for the big Week 5 divisional clash on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Hudson hasn't been active for the Bengals since the Week 1 loss to the New England Patriots, when he caught two of his three targets for 18 yards. For now, he remains well off the fantasy radar in all leagues behind Mike Gesicki, rookie Erick All Jr. and Drew Sample. Irwin is inactive for the second straight week after Tee Higgins returned to the fold for the Bengals in last week's win over the Carolina Panthers. In two games in 2024, Irwin has just two receptions on eight targets for 11 yards. The Bengals will roll forward with Ja'Marr Chase, Higgins, Andrei Iosivas, rookie Jermaine Burton and Charlie Jones at the receiver position versus Baltimore.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
