Trayce Thompson Being Shopped By Dodgers
7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Trayce Thompson is likely to be traded by the team before Opening Day. Thomspson is out of minor league options and would surely be picked up on waivers by another team if he were sent down. The 27-year-old is behind on the outfield depth chart to Yasiel Puig, Chris Taylor, Kike Hernandez, Matt Kemp, Andrew Toles, Joc Pederson and top prospect Alex Verdugo. There's really no room for him and as he puts it, "It's time for me to get a shot in the big leagues." Thompson gained some fantasy attention by hitting 13 home runs in the first half of the 2016 season. But he injured himself and didn't play in the second half and then did virtually nothing in 2017 (.122 in 27 games for the Dodgers and .212 in 95 games at Oklahoma City). He can be ignored until he's on a team that starts him.
