Travis Jankowski Signs Contract With Cubs
2 months agoOutfielder Travis Jankowski signed a contract with the Chicago Cubs. Jankowski has spent the past two seasons of his career with the Texas Rangers. He won a World Series in Texas during the 2023 campaign. During that season, he held a solid .263/.357/.322 line with 12 doubles, one home run, and 19 stolen bases. However, during the 2024 campaign, Jankowski saw his production decline as he posted a much lower .200/.266/.242 slash line. He tallied just five doubles and one home run across 104 contests. He generated a weak .241 xwOBA and a 24.2 percent hard-hit rate which were both well below the average marks. Fantasy managers should expect the 33-year-old to operate as a depth outfielder in the system. He will compete for a spot on the Opening Day roster during spring training, but given his play last season, he will likely open the campaign at Triple-A.
