Travis Homer Expected To Return To Practice Wednesday
Travis Homer (rib) was placed on the injured reserve list late in September due to a rib injury but is expected to return to practice this week. Head coach Pete Carroll reported he "should" be back participating this week, meaning he could suit up as early as this Sunday against the Giants. After losing Rashaad Penny (leg) for the year, the team has turned to rookie Kenneth Walker III, who has been impressive since taking over. They also have DeeJay Dallas backing him up, so it will be interesting to see how they deploy Homer when he returns. For fantasy purposes, Walker III remains a top-15 back regardless of the other players in the backfield.

Travis Homer, Teven Jenkins Won't Play In Season Finale
Travis Homer (hamstring) and left guard Teven Jenkins (calf) are inactive for Sunday's Week 18 contest against the Green Bay Packers. Both players had been listed as questionable. Homer has operated as the Bears' No. 3 running back for most of this season, amassing just nine touches for 34 yards through 10 games. He was far more involved on special teams than on offense in 2024, leaving most of the backfield work to D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson. Meanwhile, Jenkins is headed for his third absence of the year, including his second in a row. He'll be replaced by Jake Curhan at left guard for Sunday's season finale.

Bears Rule Out Travis Homer
Travis Homer (hamstring) for the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday at Lambeau Field against the division-rival Green Bay Packers. It doesn't come as much of a surprise since Homer has been sidelined with his hamstring injury since Week 15. When healthy, the 26-year-old was buried on Chicago's RB depth chart this year in a bad offense behind both D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson. That limited role afforded him just six rushing attempts for 23 yards while also catching three passes for 11 yards. Homer mainly contributed on special teams for Chicago in his second year with the team. The former sixth-round selection by the Seattle Seahawks in 2019 out of Miami didn't see a single carry and failed to catch his only target in 16 games with the Bears in 2023. Homer will become an unrestricted free agent in March and will look for a bigger role elsewhere.

Travis Homer Ruled Out For Thursday Night Football Against Seattle
Travis Homer (hamstring) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. Homer will miss his second consecutive game after injuring his practice in last Friday's practice, missing the Week 16 game versus the Detroit Lions. The 26-year-old did not practice this week and was eventually ruled out. Homer hasn't had much of a role as Chicago's No. 3 back, with three carries and three catches over his last two games. D'Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson, and Darrynton Evans will lead Chicago's backfield with Homer sidelined. Swift is the only realistic fantasy option this week, while Johnson is more of a deep-league flier in Week 17.

Travis Homer Misses Monday's Practice
Travis Homer (hamstring) was absent from Monday's practice session. This doesn't come as much of a surprise after Homer missed Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. The loss of Homer doesn't mean much for this offense considering he has only played in three games this season. He'll continue to serve as the third string back to D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson in the backfield. That being said, Homer is unlikely to have much of a role even if he's cleared in time for the Week 17 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
