Touki Toussaint Optioned, Bryse Wilson Back Up
6 years agoThe Atlanta Braves optioned starting pitcher Touki Toussaint to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday and recalled starter Bryse Wilson from Gwinnett in a corresponding move. Wilson opened the year with Atlanta and made one start before posting a 5.40 ERA with 16 strikeouts and three walks in 16 2/3 innings on the farm. He won't have much redraft value in Atlanta this time, though, as he's expected to pitch out of the bullpen. Toussaint had pitched six scoreless innings of relief in his first outing, but he gave up seven runs in just 1 1/3 innings on Saturday, the worst start of his career. The right-hander is a top-10 prospect in the Braves system, but he'll need to demonstrate better command if he's to stick in the Braves rotation at some point this season. Keep monitoring him in deep mixed and NL-only leagues, while he's worth stashing in keeper formats.
