Torrey Smith Knows "How the Business Goes" in Philadelphia
7 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver Torrey Smith said while he still expects to be back in Philadelphia next season, he knows "how the business goes" and understands that he may be cut. The Eagles, desperate for salary cap room, can save $5 million by cutting Smith. He was the fourth leading receiver on the team and started to lose playing time to rookie Mack Hollins towards the end of the year, so the writing is somewhat on the wall for Smith. He's much more likely to be wearing a different uniform next season than he is to don an Eagles jersey for the 2018 season. Wherever he lands, Smith won't be more than a boom-or-bust option at best.
