4 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays have brought aboard versatile infielder Jonathan Villar in a Trade Deadline deal with the Miami Marlins. After going 0-for-2 during Sunday’s contest against the Mets, Villar is slashing .259/.315/.345 with a Major League-high nine stolen bases through his first 30 games this season. While primarily a second base and shortstop, Villar can also move into the outfield when both Bo Bichette and Cavan Biggio return to the fold. Even though much of Villar’s fantasy appeal comes from his stolen bases figures, moving from Marlins Park to Sahlen Field should give him an offensive edge, thereby raising his value over the final month.--Jesse Borek
