Tony Pollard Ready To Take On Larger Workload
1 year agoDallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard (ankle) has backed up Ezekiel Elliott since entering the NFL in 2019, but the 26-year-old running back is now in line to be the primary back in one of the league's top offenses. Pollard suffered an ankle injury in the NFC Divisional Round loss to the San Francisco 49ers last season and had offseason surgery, but he's already being eased into training camp and should be more than ready to go when Week 1 rolls around. Pollard says he's ready for the challenge of a larger workload. "Whatever they throw at me, I can handle it. I'm ready to go," Pollard said. "Whatever they throw at me I'm gonna make the most of it and we'll see how that goes." Pollard broke out last season, compiling 1,378 yards and 12 touchdowns from scrimmage, good for an RB7 finish in half-PPR formats. In 2023, he has overall RB1 upside if he can stay healthy through a beefed-up touch share.
