Tony Kemp Goes On Paternity List
1 year agoThe Oakland Athletics placed outfielder Tony Kemp on the paternity list on Friday and recalled rookie outfielder Lawrence Butler from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. Kemp will most likely miss the entire weekend series against the Washington Nationals on the road. The 31-year-old has only been useful in deeper leagues for his speed (12 stolen bases) on a bad A's team this year. In his 284 at-bats, he's hitting only .211 (60-for-284) with just three home runs, 11 doubles, three triples, 22 RBI and 34 runs scored in 93 games. Butler, who is a top-five prospect for the A's per MLB Pipeline, is a much more attractive fantasy piece for his power/speed combination for the remainder of the season.
