Tony Finau Making Sixth Start At Kapalua After Rumor-Filled Offseason
2 days agoAs has been the case for at least the past two years now, Tony Finau has been at the forefront of names rumored to be jumping to the LIV Golf League, only to set the story straight by pledging loyalty to the PGA Tour and committing himself to another season. 2024 was perhaps one of the more consistent seasons from a cuts-made perspective, but it lacked several close calls or even a win that we are used to seeing from Finau at this point in his career. His game is in a good place still, with top 5 placements in strokes gained tee to green (+1.330) and on approach (+0.808), but, putting was the largest detriment, ranking 156th in strokes gained putting (-0.296). He's had some success at The Plantation Course, but until he shows resolve with the flat stick, he's certainly not a must-play at $10,700 on FanDuel.
