Tony Cingrani To Miss Beginning Of The Season
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Tony Cingrani is dealing with soreness in his left shoulder and he has been shut down. He will not be ready for Opening Day and will begin the season on the 10-day injured list. The southpaw will leave just Scott Alexander as the only left-handed specialist in the bullpen for skipper Dave Roberts to start, although Caleb Ferguson is also a potential option. Cingrani was also shut down last season due to the same issue, appearing in just 30 games with a 1-2 record and 4.76 ERA. When healthy, he can be a boon to those in 5x5 leagues which use true middle relievers, as he struck out 36 batters in just 22 2/3 innings, but avoid him for now.
