Tommy Pham Taking A Seat Thursday
3 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham is out of Thursday's lineup against the Cincinnati Reds. After a stellar June where he posted a 1.074 OPS with six dingers and six steals, Pham will get a rest day with utilityman Jurickson Profar getting the start in left field and batting seventh. Primarily batting in the leadoff spot in recent weeks, Pham has flourished atop the order with a .943 OPS in the one-spot. Slashing .264/.386/.430 overall with nine home runs, 12 stolen bags and 69 runs-plus-RBI, Pham should resume his status as a reliable OF3 over the weekend series against the Philadelphia Phillies. DFS players pivoting to Profar should keep expectations low. The 28-year-old owns a poor 75 wRC+ and 29 percent hard-hit rate with just one homer this season.
