Tommy Pham Cleared To Join Padres Camp
4 years agoUpdating a previous report, San Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham has cleared two negative COVID-19 tests and is eligible to join camp. The 32-year-old veteran tested positive last weekend and ultimately misses just one week of workouts. Coming off three consecutive campaigns of four-category fantasy contributions, Pham is priced with little room for error in the top 80 picks. If he doesn’t suffer setbacks from the virus or previous nagging elbow issues, Pham will be the team’s everyday No. 2 hitter and should have ample opportunities for counting stats. With left field locked up, outfielders Wil Myers, Franchy Cordero and Josh Naylor will battle for time in right while also serving as designated hitter options in a crowded bench. Of the group, Myers is the favorite to lead in plate appearances in 2020.
