Tommy Nance Starts Rehab Assignment
1 year agoMiami Marlins right-hander Tommy Nance (shoulder) will toss an inning as he continues his minor-league rehab assignment on Saturday in the Florida Complex League. He threw two scoreless innings on Wednesday. He started a rehab assignment with Single-A Jupiter on May 12 and threw two scoreless innings with four strikeouts on 37 pitches, but he felt shoulder soreness after that outing. Nance didn't appear at all in spring training and was placed on the 15-day injured list on March 30 and then moved to the 60-day injured list on April 22. The 32-year-old is going to need some more rehab outings in the minors before the Marlins feel comfortable activating him for his 2023 season debut, but Nance should be an option for Miami's bullpen next month.
