3 years agoSan Francisco Giants second baseman Tommy La Stella (Achilles) will make his first spring appearance in the field during Thursday's game. He will start at second base. La Stella is in the midst of working his way back from Achilles surgery, which he had last fall. He played designated hitter in the team's game on Tuesday, but his shift to second base will mark yet another positive development in his recovery. There appears to be a good chance that he'll be ready for Opening Day. The 33-year-old played in 76 games last year and slashed .250/.308/.405 with seven home runs, 27 RBI and 26 runs. He had great plate discipline as always in 2021, maintaining a strikeout rate of just 10.7%.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
