Tommy La Stella Sparks A's Offense Wednesday
4 years agoOakland Athletics second baseman Tommy La Stella went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in a win versus the Astros on Wednesday. La Stella extended his hitting streak to seven games, as he's been stellar in the leadoff spot for his new team. The 31-year-old has five runs and four RBI in eight games since being traded to Oakland and has cemented himself in the leadoff spot with Marcus Semien dinged up. He should continue to bat near the top of a potent Oakland lineup thanks to his strong on-base skills, which include a league-leading strikeout rate and a double-digit walk rate. He's a great start against Jose Urquidy on Thursday, as La Stella is a .300-plus hitter versus right-handed pitching.
