Tommy La Stella Day-To-Day With Knee Contusion
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants second baseman Tommy La Stella (knee) is day-to-day with a left knee contusion, according to Kerry Crowley of the Bay Area News Group. After being hit in the leg by a breaking ball, La Stella exited Sunday's game in the third inning after he was slow to get up following an attempt to break up a double play. The move was described as precautionary, as manager Gabe Kapler said, "He said he could continue playing and my feeling is if you're not 100%, there's no reason to continue playing." For now, it seems like it shouldn't be much of a problem going forward for La Stella, who is coming off his second-straight season with an average over .280 and an OPS over .810. Going forward, La Stella is a solid, late-round middle infield option in NL-only and OBP formats.
