Tommy Kahnle Won't Be Ready By Opening Day
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Tommy Kahnle (elbow) pitched live batting practice for the second time on Tuesday. He is now scheduled to pitch in the team's final Cactus League game on Saturday. While the 32-year-old is progressing in his rehabilitation from Tommy John surgery, he won't be ready for Opening Day, according to Dodgers beat writer Bill Plunkett. Kahnle could wind up being one of the Dodgers' primary setup men once he's back in action. In his last full season, which came in 2019 with the New York Yankees, he racked up 27 holds to go along with a 3.67 ERA, a 1.06 WHIP and 12.9 K/9.
