1 year agoNew York Mets relief pitcher Tommy Hunter has been designated for assignment on Saturday. The writing was on the wall with this one as Hunter owned an ugly 6.85 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and 20:5 K/BB ratio over 23 2/3 innings (14 appearances) on the year. The Mets made a flurry of other moves on Saturday to try and shore up their bullpen. Zack Muckenhirn was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse while relievers John Curtiss and Josh Walker were both recalled.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
