U.S. Open specialist may be a stretch, but in five U.S. Open appearances, Tommy Fleetwood already has recorded two top-five finishes, including a runner-up in 2018 at the extremely difficult Shinnecock Hills. The five-time European Tour winner indubitably has an affinity for long, difficult and classical golf courses. Fleetwood's two best finishes of the year have come at Bay Hill, where he finished 10th, and Quail Hollow, where he finished 14th. It was not a surprise to see the Englishman also rank 24th in this field in strokes gained in ball-striking on courses measuring over 7,400 yards. While his recent form has been underwhelming, Fleetwood did show positive signs at last week's Palmetto Championship, gaining 1.8 strokes on approach, good for his best iron week since March. Fleetwood can now pair a trending approach game with an already elite short game, as he also ranks second in this entire field in strokes gained around the green. With above-average distance, an elite short game, trending ball-striking and a fantastic history on long and difficult courses and USGA setups, Fleetwood checks all of the boxes this week.--Andy Lack
