Tommy Edman Tallies Two Hits And Steals A Base
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals second baseman/outfielder Tommy Edman had a solid game in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Detroit Tigers. He went 2-for-5 with a pair of singles and a stolen base. The steal was his second in as many games and his 21st of the year. The Cardinals leadoff hitter has had a decent year overall. Through 123 games, he's slashing .259/.309/.379 with seven home runs, 36 RBI and 65 runs. His 12.9% strikeout rate ranks in the 97th percentile and he has a .274 xBA, which ranks in the 82nd percentile. However, his power numbers are nowhere to be found as his 4.2% barrel rate and 35.3% hard-hit rate rank in the bottom 15% and 25% of the league, respectively.
