Todd Gurley Quiet Despite Team's Offensive Explosion
6 years agoLos Angeles Ram running back Todd Gurley has been an elite running back option all season long, but that changed this week. Gurley only had 12 carries for 55 yards to go with three catches for 39 yards. His touchdown streak also came to an end at 13 games. The Kansas City Chiefs made a concerted effort to force quarterback Jared Goff to beat them, and he did just that. Moving forward, it's likely that Gurley won't struggle as he did in this matchup, but it showed that Gurley isn't quite as matchup-proof as he has been thought so far. If the Rams shut down Gurley at the tail end of the season for the playoffs, his backup running back Malcolm Brown becomes an intriguing option. However, Gurley is still an elite running back that you can start with confidence.
