Todd Gilliland will roll off of the starting grid from 33rd-place in Sunday night's Cook Out Southern 500, and while that is not in the position you want to be at a track like Darlington, the No. 38 Ford should be able to pass some cars and contend for a lead-lap finish. Gilliland was really strong in practice on Saturday afternoon, posting the second-best 10-lap average while ranking inside the top six in 15-, 20-, 25-, and 30-lap averages as well. Additionally, coming through the field is something that Gilliland is quite used to at this race track. He has started 24th or worse in four of his five previous starts at Darlington, and in two of those four races he still finished inside the top 15. Gilliland has been a great DFS pick for most of the summer, and it's looking like he will be able to put up another big score for his low salary this weekend due to the Place Differential potential.--Jordan McAbee

The NASCAR Cup Series is at an intermediate track this weekend (Texas Motor Speedway), which means you should temper your expectations with Todd Gilliland. Looking back at the Las Vegas race earlier this year, Gilliland never found any speed in the desert and ended up finishing 29th after qualifying 32nd. This weekend at Texas, the No. 38 Ford ended up 27th-fastest in practice but was just 32nd-fastest in qualifying. In three career starts at this track, Gilliland has never finished better than 28th, and he's ended up outside of the top 30 entirely in two of those three events. Even though he is a cheap DFS option on DraftKings this weekend ($5,900), it's going to take a lot of luck for Gilliland to end up with even a halfway decent fantasy score on Sunday. --Jordan McAbee

Could we see Todd Gilliland finally break through with a win in the NASCAR Cup Series this weekend? It's not overly likely, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the Front Row Motorsports driver run up front on Sunday. Gilliland has a strong track record at Talladega Superspeedway, with top-10 finishes in three of his six career starts here. Add in another 12th-place finish to his résumé and Talladega has been one of the strongest track for him (average finish-wise) in the Cup Series. This weekend, Gilliland qualified a relatively disappointing 15th for Sunday's Jack Link's 500, which makes him an interesting DFS option. At $7,200 on the DraftKings slate, Gilliland is a mid-tier driver with limited Place Differential upside. However, if he's able to pull off a top-five finish, Gilliland will get to the coveted 50+ FPTS mark. He's definitely an option in DFS tournaments on Sunday, but be careful with how much exposure you have on Gilliland this weekend.--Jordan McAbee

It may be a long race on Sunday for Todd Gilliland, as the Food City 500 is set to take place at Bristol Motor Speedway and 500 laps are scheduled to be run in "Thunder Valley" with tire concerns running rampant for all teams. Gilliland will roll off the starting grid from 30th-place and could find himself a lap down early due to that poor track position to start with. Additionally, the No. 34 Ford hasn't shown the most speed this weekend. In addition to being pretty slow in qualifying, Gilliland was 34th-fastest on the practice speed chart (out of 39 drivers) and ranked 33rd-fastest in 10-lap average (out of 34). With that being said, because of how volatile races at Bristol can be, and because of Gilliland Place Differential upside, you should have some exposure to the Front Row Motorsports driver in DFS this weekend at his $6,200 price tag. Gilliland does have a couple of respectful finishes here at Bristol in his four career starts, finishing 18th and 16th in his first two attempts in 2022 and 2023.--Jordan McAbee

Don't be surprised if Todd Gilliland sneaks into the top 15 in the Goodyear 400 on Sunday afternoon. In his six career starts at Darlington Raceway, Gilliland has finished 17th or better four times, including a career-best 11th-place finish in the spring race here back in 2023. This weekend, Todd ended up posting the 12th-fastest lap in qualifying and will roll off the starting grid from the sixth row on Sunday. In practice, the No. 34 Ford looked pretty decent on the long run, too, as Gilliland ranked 11th-best in terms of 30-lap average during that session. Typically not known for his intermediate prowess, Todd Gilliland has a better-than-expected record at Darlington Raceway. He's an extremely risky DFS pick on Sunday ($6,100 on DraftKings) due to his high starting position, but Gilliland could surprise people this weekend and grab a third top-10 finish of the 2025 season. He's fresh off of a 10th-place result at Martinsville one week ago.--Jordan McAbee
