Timo Meier Inks Eight-Year Extension With Devils
2 years agoTimo Meier and the New Jersey Devils have agreed to an eight-year contract extension that carries an average annual value of $8.8 million. Acquired from the Sharks prior to the 2023 trade deadline, Meier tallied nine goals and 14 points alongside 72 shots on goal in 21 games with the Devils after a fantastic 31 goals and 52 points across 57 games with the Sharks. Overall, the 26-year-old posted 40 goals for the first time in his career while notching 66 points across 78 games played. Considering Meier is now with a contending club, he is a fantasy manager's dream with plenty of goal-scoring ability alongside a plethora of shots on goal as his 327 shots last season tied for sixth in the NHL while an improvement on his minus-19 rating should be expected with the Devils next season.
