4 years agoOttawa Senators left wing Tim Stutzle led the charge in Thursday's 3-2 shocking win over Montreal, netting his fourth goal of the season and handing out two assists. At 19 years and 20 days old, the German sensation became the second-youngest player in franchise history to record a three-point outing. Thomas Chabot had a power-play goal and an assist and Connor Brown also scored for the Senators, who ended a nine-game losing streak. Stutzle's fantasy stock keeps rising with every game, and he'll head into Saturday's rematch with Montreal on a three-game point streak. He remains available in most fantasy leagues.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

5 months agoOttawa Senators forward Tim Stutzle tallied two goals and two assists as the team cruised to an easy 8-1 victory over St. Louis on Tuesday. Stutzle scored both of his goals during even-strength play and had his assists on the power play. With his seventh career four-point effort, Stutzle passed Marian Hossa for the most by a Senators player age 24 or younger. The young German star is off to an impressive start to the season, going scoreless in only one game and totaling 14 points (five goals, nine assists) across nine outings. He will carry a five-game point streak into the next matchup against the Rangers.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

5 months agoOttawa Senators forward Tim Stutzle (upper body) is ready to return to the lineup for Thursday's regular-season opener against Florida. He missed Ottawa's preseason finale at the weekend due to an upper-body injury. Stutzle will join forces with Brady Tkachuk and Claude Giroux on the top line and skate on the first power-play unit. The German star can heat up in a hurry and appears poised for another productive campaign after totaling 160 points (57 goals, 103 assists) across the previous two seasons.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

5 months agoOttawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot (undisclosed) and forwards Brady Tkachuk (upper body) and Tim Stutzle (upper body) returned to practice earlier this week and could play in one of the final preseason games this weekend, according to Claire Hanna of TSN Sports. Hanna noted that head coach Travis Green said he is not "overly concerned" with their status. This is an excellent sign as all three skaters are on track to be ready for the season opener on Thursday when they host the Stanley Cup Champion, Florida Panthers. Both Tkachuk and Stutzle are slated to play on the top line alongside Claude Giroux, while Chabot will play on the second pair with Nick Jensen to open the season.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

6 months agoOttawa Senators forward Tim Stutzle (shoulder) has declared himself fully healthy ahead of the new NHL campaign. Stutzle missed the final seven regular-season games in 2023-24 with a shoulder injury. However, after receiving treatment "every day for the last three months," the 22-year-old rising star is ready to go for the start of 2024-25. Stutzle had a down year last season but still put up a respectable 70 points (18 goals, 52 assists) across 75 games. He was reportedly troubled by his shoulder throughout the campaign and had a wrist injury early on, so Stutzle could be ready for a big bounce-back year now that he's back at 100 percent.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
