Tim Hill Re-Signs With Yankees
2 mins agoLeft-handed reliever Tim Hill and the New York Yankees reached an agreement on a one-year, $2.85 million deal on Tuesday that includes a club option for the 2026 season, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan. Hill's option will be worth $3 million with a $350,000 buyout. The 34-year-old veteran southpaw began the 2024 season with the Chicago White Sox and struggled to a 5.87 ERA and 2.22 WHIP in 27 relief appearances before joining the Yankees for the second half. Hill was much more effective in the Bronx, posting a 2.05 ERA (3.62 FIP) and 1.02 WHIP with an 18:9 K:BB in 44 innings during the regular season. He allowed only one earned run in 10 appearances in the postseason during New York's World Series run. Hill will be back with the Yanks in 2025 as the team's only lefty specialist in front of new closer Devin Williams.
