Tim Anderson Beginning Rehab Assignment
2 years agoChicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (knee) will commence a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte over the weekend. Anderson sustained a left knee sprain, which caused him to miss two weeks of play. He will play a few games in Charlotte to ensure that he is prepared to return to the White Sox lineup before their home series against the Minnesota Twins starting on Tuesday. On the season, the 29-year-old is hitting .298/.327/.404 with five stolen bases and a 102 OPS+. He only played in 11 games over that span and has been replaced by Elvis Andrus at shortstop. Once Anderson returns, with the assumption that his bat stays hot, the White Sox are hoping to rejuvenate their morbid offense.
