Tigers Sign David Hensley To Minor-League Contract
51 mins agoAccording to Ari Alexander of KPRC2, the Detroit Tigers have signed infielder/outfielder David Hensley to a minor-league contract. This contract includes an invitation to spring training. Over the past three seasons, Hensley has seen limited playing time in the major leagues. Last summer, Hensley appeared in 23 games for the Miami Marlins. During this small stint, Hensley held a .212/.293/.288 line with one double and one home run. He generated a weak .153 xBA, .216 xSLG, and a .218 xwOBA, which were all well below the average marks. However, he was able to draw walks at a solid 10.3 percent rate. Across 250 contests at the Triple-A level, Hensley has posted a .257/.384/.413 line. Fantasy managers should expect the 28-year-old to compete for a spot on the Opening Day roster during spring training but will likely open the season at Triple-A.
