Tigers Acquire Tyler Nevin
2 years agoThe Detroit Tigers acquired infielder Tyler Nevin on Saturday in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles, per a tweet from the Tigers' public relations Twitter account. Per the tweet, Detroit acquired Nevin for cash considerations. The Tigers also designated pitcher Zach Logue for assignment to make room for the infielder on the team's 40-man roster. Nevin appeared in 58 games for the Orioles this past season, hitting .197 with a .299 on-base percentage and a pair of home runs in 184 plate appearances. He saw most of his playing time at third base and first base in 2022 and will give the Tigers some additional depth around the infield heading into next season. Detroit has Spencer Torkelson at first base but doesn't have a set or obvious starter at third base at the moment.
