Theo Riddick's Role Is Safe
6 years agoDetroit Lions running back Theo Riddick impressed in Tuesday’s joint practice with the New York Giants. Riddick displayed solid pass protection and continued to dominate in one-on-one passing drills against linebackers. During a passing drill, Riddick blew up a pass rusher from the Giants, protecting quarterback Jake Rudock. While he is regarded as one of the best pass-catching backs in the league, his role as the crafty veteran with a high level of offensive awareness will keep him on the field more often than not. His mid- to late-round price tag in PPR leagues shouldn’t be seen as a stretch despite the crowded backfield in Detroit. Riddick has a low ceiling but is typically a steady source of points in the event of injuries or bye weeks.
