Lions Tight End Situation Is Still A Mess
6 years agoDetroit Lions tight end Michael Roberts drew the Week 1 start despite being listed third on the team's depth chart. He played just 14 offensive snaps and did not draw a target. Levine Toilolo and Hakeem Valles played the most snaps of the group at 20 and 18, respectively. Toilolo caught his only target for seven yards, while Valles was looked at twice and caught one ball for five yards. Luke Willson is still listed as the team's number one tight end, but also played just 14 snaps and wasn't involved in the offense. The team is still trying to find a replacement for Eric Ebron, who they let go this offseason. As the Lions travel to play the 49ers this Sunday, all four players shouldn't even be thought of for fantasy. The 49ers boasted the fifth-best defense against the tight end last year, and this is a bad committee situation.
