Colts RB1 Role Remains Up For Grabs
1 year agoOn Monday, the Colts organization allowed star running back Jonathan Taylor permission to seek a trade. A trade would open the door for a number of backs to win the starting role in Indianapolis. During Thursday's preseason game against Philadelphia, veteran Deon Jackson and rookie Evan Hull split time with the starting unit. Hull showed more explosiveness, while both backs found their way into the end zone via short rushing touchdowns. It appears that the two healthy backs will share the workload until either Zack Moss (arm) returns from injury or Taylor returns. Playing with a rookie quarterback who is apt to run and scramble, an RB timeshare is not a very fantasy-friendly situation to target. Jackson and Hull should remain late-round pickups for running back-needy teams, while Moss should be drafted late and stashed on IR in the event he returns and captures a true starting role.
