The Eric Ebron Breakout Happens in Week 5
6 years agoIndianapolis Colts tight end Eric Ebron hauled in nine passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns in the team's 24-38 loss to the New England Patriots on Thursday. It took quarterback Andrew Luck's two favorite targets in wide receiver T.Y. Hilton and tight end Jack Doyle being out of the lineup for it to happen, but Ebron's breakout stat-line finally came to be with the Colts trailing for most of the contest. Unfortunately, Ebron seemed hobbled by a leg injury at different points in the game and his success is obviously unsustainable given the likelihood of both Hilton and Doyle returning in Week 6. When the Colts take on the New York Jets, Ebron will likely be a touchdown-dependent TE2 unless injuries hold more pass-catchers out of the lineup.
