The Case For Brad Keselowski At Phoenix
9 months agoBrad Keselowski will start 18th in Sunday's Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway. Despite still being in the early portion of the NASCAR schedule, this is an important race for the RFK driver-owner as the team has struggled this season. Given that Keselowski is 28th in the playoff standings and that his teammate Chris Buescher is 23rd, this team needs a big showing this weekend at Phoenix, which is unfortunately not one of Keselowski's better tracks. With no wins and just 13 top 10 finishes out of 29 Cup starts (44.8%), Phoenix Raceway is not typically a track you want to target the former Cup Series champion at. With this said, while past performance is important to keep in mind, driver desperation is also something to take into consideration. Because of the urgency for this team to get things back on track, expect a big performance from the 17-year Cup veteran in Arizona this weekend. While this does not mean that you should go overweight on the No. 6, you will want to have some exposure to a driver who is racing not just for himself but for the organization he co-owns.
