The Houston Texans and defensive end Jadeveon Clowney are "close" to reaching a contract extension, according to a source. The deal is in the neighborhood of $18-18.5 million guaranteed per year for over five years. It's likely that a deal is reached at least by training camp. The Texans are also making it a priority to extend linebacker Whitney Mercilus before next season. Clowney, 25, is one of the best young pass rushers in the NFL and had a career-high 59 tackles, 9.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries in his first full season in 2017. He's an early-round pick in IDP leagues and the combination of he and Mercilus, along with a healthy J.J. Watt, make Houston an intriguing fantasy pick as long as their secondary cooperates.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
