Tevin Coleman And Matt Breida Play Sparingly
5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running backs Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida combined for just 10 touches in Week 17’s thriller against the Seattle Seahawks. Both backs continued playing sparingly behind workhorse Raheem Mostert, with Coleman totaling 17 yards on five totes and a catch while Breida managed 16 yards on four carries. Both runners finish the season with over 700 scrimmage yards but ended on a whimper as Mostert took firm control of the backfield. The Niners rushing committee has become even more crowded lately with wideout Deebo Samuel mixing in the run game. Both Coleman and Breida will be shaky flex options when the Niners emerge from their bye in the Divisional playoff round.
