7 years agoBoston Celtics point guard Terry Rozier looks likely to keep slumping at the start of the playoffs against the Milwaukee Bucks. Rozier impressed this season, putting together a career-year while coming mostly off the bench, but he had a miserable run to finish off regular season play. He's shot just 26.3 percent this month, averaging 6.8 points per game. Rozier scored in double figures for 25 consecutive games before posting a two-point dud on April 4 against Toronto, which started the current slump. The Bucks have been one of the better teams in stopping point guards this season, as they have allowed only 20.8 points per 48 minutes, which is the sixth-best mark in the league. Giannis & Co did a good job against Rozier as well, limiting him to 8.7 points and 2.3 assists in 24 minutes per game. There should be better DFS options at point guards.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 month agoMiami Heat guard Terry Rozier (illness) will miss a second straight game while battling a stomach bug that has been circulating in the Heat's locker room. Rozier also missed Wednesday night's loss in Oklahoma City, allowing Davion Mitchell to start alongside Tyler Herro in the backcourt. Mitchell had 14 points, three assists, a steal, and a rebound in his 35 minutes, and he'll likely get plenty of work again on Thursday. Duncan Robinson (illness) will return from his one-game absence, but Mitchell's playing time should be relatively secure since Andrew Wiggins (illness) will join Rozier on the sidelines.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller

1 month agoAccording to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier (illness) won't play against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday. Rozier has the stomach flu and will miss his first game since January 1st. The 30-year-old is averaging 12.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists in 28.5 minutes across 47 games this season. Davion Mitchell will likely see an expanded role with Rozier out of the lineup.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

2 months agoMiami Heat guard Terry Rozier has not been charged with a crime nor has he been accused of wrongdoing at this point, but federal investigators are investigating his play in a game from the 2023 season when he played for the Charlotte Hornets. The NBA confirmed on Thursday that this is part of the same probe that led to the lifetime ban of Jontay Porter, but the NBA also said that it investigated the matter and did not find any league rules that were broken. The game in question took place on March 23, 2023, against the Pelicans. Rozier left after just 9:36 due to a foot issue and did not play in the remaining eight games of the Hornets' season. Since Charlotte was out of playoff contention, Rozier's absence wasn't especially surprising, but the action on his player props from that game has drawn federal attention. At this point, no action has been taken regarding Rozier, but this could be a huge story if it ultimately leads to a suspension or change in limitations and regulations around player props. Stay tuned for more details as the story unfolds.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller

3 months agoMiami Heat guard Terry Rozier has been suspended one game for his involvement in a physical altercation during Sunday's win over the Rockets. The 30-year-old hasn't had the best season, averaging 12.0 points and shooting 32.2% from behind the arc. While he isn't a steady fantasy contributor, his absence for Wednesday's matchup with the New Orleans Pelicans could at least open up minutes for Alec Burks and Duncan Robinson (foot). However, Jimmy Butler (illness) will return on Wednesday, so Burks and Robinson could have trouble doing anything meaningful for fantasy managers.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
