Terrance Gore Finally Has More Plate Appearances Than Steals
6 years agoKansas City Royals pinch-runner extraordinaire Terrance Gore got the start on Friday night and tallied four plate appearances. For most players, that's just a typical Friday night. For Gore, it meant that he finally had more career plate appearances than stolen bases. Gore has now gone to the plate 32 times in his career while he remained stuck at 31 stolen bases. Gore has performed well in his limited at-bats so far this season, so he'll likely be able to keep the numbers this way throughout the year, but manager Ned Yost has certainly been known to make curious roster decisions before. He also agreed on Friday to race The Freeze along with teammate Billy Hamilton when the Royals visit Atlanta in July, so that should be fun to watch. It's unlikely The Freeze will give him nearly the head start he gives other unfortunate competitors.
