years agoCarolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. could have a tough path to fantasy relevance against the Eagles in Week 5. Marshall has yet to eclipse 50 receiving yards in a game and is coming off of a two-yard effort in a Week 4 loss to Dallas. The rookie has the skills to succeed in this offense, but he operated firmly behind D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson in the wide receiver pecking order last week, which doesn't bode well for his future fantasy value if it becomes a trend. Marshall is worth rostering as a stash option but can't be considered in weekly lineups at the moment.--Tim Capurso

months agoThe Las Vegas Raiders signed free-agent wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday. Marshall was waived by the Carolina Panthers at the end of training camp and then latched on with the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad before being released last week. The 24-year-old former second-round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2021 out of LSU caught 64 of 110 targets for 767 yards and just one touchdown in 36 games (16 starts) in his first three years in the league. Marshall will now head to Vegas to serve as receiver depth for a team in freefall after just trading All-Pro wideout Davante Adams to the New York Jets. Right now, Jakobi Meyers, Tre Tucker and DJ Turner are the Raiders' top three wideouts, with Tyreik McAllister and Alex Bachman further down the depth chart. Marshall can continue to be ignored in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

months agoThe San Francisco 49ers have released fourth-year wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. from their practice squad. Marshall Jr. failed to be activated to the 53-man roster despite the injuries at the position. He is a former second-round pick of the Carolina Panthers who has struggled to find his footing since his rookie contract expired. In his career, he has recorded 64 catches for 767 yards and one touchdown. This release does not impact the 49ers' passing game, as they appear to be fully healthy again. Marshall Jr. will look to land on another team looking for wide receiver help, but the former Carolina Panther is mainly a stash in deep dynasty formats for now.--Cody Pestino - RotoBaller

months agoFree agent wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. is signing with the San Francisco 49ers, according to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz. The former 2021 second-round selection was waived by the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday afternoon. Over his first three NFL seasons, the LSU product totaled just 767 yards and one score on 64 receptions. Marshall saw a career-high 490 yards in 2022 but took a significant step down last season as he tallied only 139 yards. The 24-year-old could push to earn the No.4 or 5 spot on the 49er depth chart or may be placed on the practice squad for the time being. Marshall could be a name to monitor in deeper dynasty leagues, as he has yet to earn an extended opportunity in the NFL despite being a high draft pick.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

months agoThe Carolina Panthers released wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. on Tuesday, according to a source. The former second-rounder had a strong training camp this summer and should be a good waiver option for other NFL teams looking to build extra receiving depth heading into the start of the 2024 regular season in just under two weeks. Marshall finds himself on the open market after catching 64 passes for 767 yards and only one touchdown on 110 targets in his three seasons in Carolina over 36 games played (16 starts). The 24-year-old pass-catcher became the odd-man out in the receiving corps after the Panthers added Diontae Johnson via trade and rookie Xavier Legette in the first round of April's NFL draft. Marshall played in only nine games in 2023 in a terrible Panthers offense and finished with only 19 receptions for 139 yards and no scores.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
