Teoscar Hernandez Belts First Home Run Of Spring
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a home run and two strikeouts in Sunday's loss to the Yankees. Hernandez was a strikeout victim to Gerrit Cole twice before clubbing an Asher Wojciechowski slider into right for an opposite-field home run, his first long-ball of the spring. The 28-year-old broke out in 50 games last year, smashing 16 home runs with 34 RBI, 33 runs scored, six stolen bases, and a .289 average. Hernandez posted career-best numbers in xSLG, Hard Hit percentage, and Barrel rate, suggesting that he should be a dependable source of power once again. He comes with some risk, particularly in points leagues where his career 31.6 strikeout percentage will hurt more, though he's a good choice at his 82 ADP in roto formats.
