Teoscar Hernandez Avoids IL, Hopeful To Return By Monday
3 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez (foot) said on Saturday that scans came back clean on his foot. He also stated he was feeling much better today and is hopeful he can return by Monday or Tuesday for the Dodgers' series against the Chicago Cubs. Hernandez left Friday night's game after being hit by a pitch. Initially it sounded like he wasn't doing great, according to manager Dave Roberts, so getting this news and avoiding the 10-day IL as initially expected is great news to hear. The 31-year-old has been very consistent for the Dodgers, hitting for a 130 OPS+ in 2024. His bat will certainly be missed in an important series against the Cleveland Guardians. Andy Pages is starting in left field for the Dodgers Saturday night in Hernandez's absence and should be expected to get starts that Hernandez will miss.
