Tejay Antone Suffering From Elbow Discomfort
1 year agoCincinnati Reds relief pitcher Tejay Antone (elbow) left his outing on Wednesday night against the Detroit Tigers with right-elbow discomfort. Before leaving, Antone allowed a walk and struck out one in two-thirds of an inning to pick up his first hold of the season. That's where the good news ends. The 29-year-old recently made his 2023 debut after returning from Tommy John surgery, so more elbow pain is a pretty ominous sign for the reliever. Antone came into Wednesday's outing having thrown just five innings out of the Cincy bullpen after making his season debut on Sept. 2. There's a good chance he'll need a trip to the injured list, and it wouldn't be a surprise if we didn't see him again until spring training in 2024.
