Tejay Antone Could Have Rehab Assignment Extended Again
1 year agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Tejay Antone (elbow) worked a scoreless inning with one hit allowed and a strikeout for Triple-A Louisville on Aug. 16, which was his 12th minor-league rehab appearance. Antone and the Reds recently agreed to extend his rehab assignment by 10 days as he works his way back from a second Tommy John surgery, and manager David Bell didn't rule out another extension. "He's doing well. No decision has been made yet. He is feeling good and pitching well," Bell said. The 29-year-old reliever had Tommy John surgery back in August of 2021 and then suffered a right flexor strain last winter. In 11 2/3 innings of rehab in the minors this year, he's allowed seven earned runs on 14 hits (two homers) while walking four and striking out 12.
