Tejay Antone Begins Rehab Assignment
1 year agoCincinnati Reds relief pitcher Tejay Antone (elbow) started a minor-league rehab assignment on Tuesday at the Arizona Complex League. If everything goes smoothly, he is projected to return to Cincy's big-league bullpen by Aug. 19, according to manager David Bell. Antone is working his way back from a second Tommy John procedure that he had last year, and he also had a setback along the way with a sore right shoulder. Considering how long the 29-year-old has been out, it makes plenty of sense for him to be on a rehab assignment for as long as possible, potentially up to 30 days. It's unlikely that Antone will have fantasy value, if any at all, for the remainder of the 2023 campaign. He hasn't pitched since last August.
