Teddy Bridgewater Gets 235 Yards
4 years agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater went 22-for-28 for 235 yards and one touchdown in the Week 3 win over the Chargers. Through three games, Bridgewater's only impressive stat has been passing for 367 yards in Week 2. Other than that, he hasn't been explosive in terms of touchdowns. In fact, the QB has two passing touchdowns and two picks on the year. He's simply not consistent enough and has rather mediocre weekly numbers, making him an unappealing fantasy option.

Teddy Bridgewater Expected To Sign With Lions
3 months agoQuarterback Teddy Bridgewater is coming out of retirement and is expected to sign with the Detroit Lions, according to sources. Bridgewater will return to Detroit after serving as Jared Goff's backup last season. The 32-year-old veteran signal-caller only appeared in one game in 2023 and didn't attempt a single pass. The year before with the Miami Dolphins, he went 49-for-79 for 683 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions in five games (two starts). Bridgewater will most likely join the Lions' practice squad initially but could eventually join the 53-man active roster alongside Hendon Hooker as insurance behind Goff for the postseason. Given the time that Bridgewater has been away from the game the past year, we'd be surprised if he'd suddenly become the QB2 for Detroit when postseason action begins.

Teddy Bridgewater Planning To Make NFL Return
3 months agoQuarterback Teddy Bridgewater is reportedly planning on attempting a comeback to the NFL. The 32-year-old retired last season after playing in a reserve role with the Detroit Lions. He left the league to coach his high school alma mater. Now, Bridgewater believes he's ready to play in the NFL again. Bridgewater came into the league with high hopes, but injuries derailed his career. Despite that, Bridgewater is still a knowledge veteran that could be helpful to an NFL locker room. It wouldn't be shocking to see an NFL team sign him just for his leadership in a reserve role. The chances of Bridgewater being a successful full-time quarterback are slim at this point.

Teddy Bridgewater Plans To Retire After This Season
1 year agoDetroit Lions backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater said that he plans to hang up his cleats and retire from professional football after the 2023 season concludes. In his ninth NFL season, Bridgewater hasn't attempted a pass this year as the backup to Jared Goff in his first year in Detroit. The 31-year-old was once considered a franchise QB for the Minnesota Vikings before suffering a devastating knee injury. He spent the first three years of his career in Minnesota and made his lone Pro Bowl appearance in 2015. Injuries continued to limit Bridgewater in recent years, and he made only two starts for the Miami Dolphins since 2021. If Bridgewater doesn't play the rest of this season, he'll end his career with a 66.4 completion percentage on 2,067 attempts for 15,120 yards, 75 touchdowns and 47 interceptions in 79 games (65 starts) with Minnesota, New Orleans, Carolina, Denver and Miami.
